Competency Training’s High Voltage Awareness introduces a range of concepts relating to high voltage installations, including safety procedures and electrical hazards.
The Hazardous Areas Awareness course is designed to introduce personnel to some of the aspects of working in a high voltage area. It provides an overview of the following topics:
The course can be delivered as a classroom course for company bookings, and the course material can be tailored to specifically address the needs of your facility.
This Hazardous Area Awareness course is suitable for anyone working in or around a high voltage installation who needs to be aware of their responsibilities in these areas. This includes:
A trade qualification is not necessary.
This course is suitable for asset owners, stores and purchasing personnel, engineers, cleaning staff, HSE staff, trade personnel and management who require an awareness of their responsibilities when working with high voltage electrical equipment.
Mechanical and operational personnel who are required to perform single point isolation for mechanical access only may choose to enrol in the nationally recognised High Voltage Functional Switching course.
Mechanical and electrical workers who are required to perform switching to a switching program should enrol in the nationally recognised High Voltage Isolation for Access course.
Electrical workers who are required to write, check and/or authorise switching programs, perform switching, issue permits and coordinate switching and permit procedures should enrol in the nationally recognised High Voltage Switching Operations course.
