The High Voltage Awareness course provides an introduction to high voltage electrical equipment. It provides an overview of the following topics:
The eLearning package incorporates multimedia elements to make the course
engaging for students. Assessments are presented and completed by students at
different points throughout the training to ensure that learning outcomes have been
met.
This course does not include any formal competencies.
This High Voltage Awareness course is suitable for anyone working in or around a high voltage installation who needs to be aware of their responsibilities in these areas. This includes:

This course is suitable for asset owners, stores and purchasing personnel, engineers, cleaning staff, HSE staff, trade personnel and management who require an awareness of their responsibilities when working with high voltage electrical equipment.
Mechanical and operational personnel who are required to perform single point isolation for mechanical access only may choose to enrol in the nationally recognised High Voltage Functional Switching course.
Mechanical and electrical workers who are required to perform switching to a switching program should enrol in the nationally recognised High Voltage Isolation for Access course.
Electrical workers who are required to write, check and/or authorise switching programs, perform switching, issue permits and coordinate switching and permit procedures should enrol in the nationally recognised High Voltage Switching Operations course.
