PSST Merger

POSTED: September 12 2011

BRINGING MORE TO CUSTOMERS IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

On 23 August 2011 Competency Training was pleased to announce a merger with Perth-based company, Power Supply Services and Training (PSST). Operating since 1997, PSST has built a strong profile primarily within Western Australia’s mining and minerals sector, delivering high quality electrical training, procedure development, auditing and inspection services for a diverse customer base including blue chip owners and operators.

We  are proud to welcome Paul Egan, PSST’s Managing Director and his team to Competency Training and are pleased that Paul will lead the continued  growth of our western training operations. The PSST team will continue to operate with minimal change, delivering the high quality services  that have built the company’s reputation over the past 14 years.

Competency Training and PSST are complimentary in capabilities and aligned in culture. The acquisition represents a strategic expansion into West Australia’s resource and energy market. The merging of our organisations transforms our capabilities into a leading provider of specialised, post-trade electrical and instrumentation training nationally. For customers, this merger will mean:

  • Ability to access an expanded, high quality training capability through a single provider
  • Greater accessibility to training, by delivering courses more frequently in line with our customers’ needs
  • Development of site specific training packages, aligned to their facility, with delivery of content directly to site
  • Forging long term relationships with confidence in our ability to manage the capacity, whilst maintaining delivery of outstanding training solutions
