Exploring AS 2885 Part 3: Operations and Maintenance

Overview

AS2885.3 is Australia’s National Standard covering the longest and most significant period in a pipeline system’s life cycle, being its operation. AS2885.3 brings all other parts of the AS2885 Series together for a single purpose: Safe and reliable operation through a pipeline system’s entire service life.

This course provides a general overview of the latest revision of AS2885.3, focusing on the structure of the Pipeline Management System, its requirements and key associated documentation. Our full-day session discusses the role of the Pipeline Integrity Management Plan as the key tool used to implement the Pipeline Management System, as well as the synergies between Part 3 and other Parts of the Standard Series.

Course Outline

This course provides a general overview of the latest revision of AS2885.3, focusing on the structure of the Pipeline Management System, its requirements and key associated documentation. This full-day session discusses the role of the Pipeline Integrity Management Plan as the key tool used to implement the Pipeline Management System, as well as the synergies between Part 3 and other Parts of the Standard Series.

On completion of this training, participants can expect to:

  • Understand structure and documentation requirements of the Pipeline Management System, in the context of your own organisation
  • Structure and function of the Pipeline Integrity Management Plan and other associated documents and procedures
  • Understand the relationship and interactions between Part 3 and other parts of the AS2885 Series
  • Become familiar with technical integrity management processes such as Anomaly Assessment, Defect Repair and Restricted Operating Pressure (ROP)
Our instructors are active members of the Australian Standards ME-038.3 Committee in charge of updating and improving the Standard. They also have extensive experience as pipeline operators and consultants and as such can tailor the delivery of this course to the specific audience, being engineering, management, or field personnel.
