Overview

The HV Isolation for Access course involves the skills and knowledge required to undertake operations of both High Voltage and Low Voltage Switchgear for Electrical Work / AccessCompetency in this unit requires the ability to plan and prepare work, conduct switchgear operations, validate switchgear integrity, operate switchgear using a switching program, issue & cancel a permit to work, and completing documentation.Individuals will in general be working under supervision, and will require authority/authorisation to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.

Who should attend?

This High Voltage Isolation for Access course is designed for personnel who are carrying out high voltage switching operations under the direction of an authorised High Voltage Switching Operator.

REFRESHER TRAINING

In accordance with industry Best Practice, Competency Training recommends that this high voltage training course be refreshed every 2-3 years.

HIGH VOLTAGE SWITCHING OPERATIONS

Electrical workers who are required to write, check and/or authorise switching programs, perform switching, issue permits and coordinate switching and permit procedures should enrol in the nationally recognised High Voltage Switching Operations course.
