Our parent company, LogiCamms together with collaboration partner CQU (Central QLD University) received the Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award at the recent QLD Training Awards.
This award acknowledges the ability to successfully collaborate with academic institutions, and lead industry involvement in innovative projects to the benefit of the local community.
LogiCamms and CQU joined forces, with the support of a range of industry partners, to introduce a biodiesel plant project for the delivery of a Certificate II in Engineering pathway at CQU’s Mackay Ooralea’s Trade Training Centre. The project has given more than 300 local students a unique, innovative and engaging training experience that is highly valued by industry supporters and future employers.
Since 2012 LogiCamms has provided specialist process, electrical, software, and hazardous area engineering assistance in the design, construction, commissioning, training, and operation of the biodiesel plant.
The close relationship between LogiCamms and CQU extends back many years, with many CO-OP students on industry placement becoming full time LogiCamms employees upon graduation. The partnership with CQU is a continuation of LogiCamms’ support for the local community and local education. LogiCamms sees great value in the gaining of practical skills for the students who have worked and continue to work on this project.
LogiCamms and CQU will now contest the Australian Training Awards, held in Darwin on 17 November 2016.
