High Voltage Switching courses in Adelaide

POSTED: July 30 2014

We are excited to announce a partnership between Competency Training and PEER VEET, an Adelaide-based Group Training Organisation (GTO) and Registered Training Organisation (RTO), for the delivery of nationally recognised High Voltage Switching courses to the South Australian market.

This partnership will see Competency Training delivering our industry-leading High Voltage Switching Operations course  from the state-of-the-art PEER facility in Adelaide.  The first course is scheduled to run between the 25th  – 29th  August 2014, and will be the only truly nationally recognised course on offer in Adelaide.

Our course has recently been updated in line with industry procedures and workplace practices to allow students to experience both a ‘control room’ scenario as well as hands-on switching in the field. As part of their theoretical component, students will utilise a customised electronic and interactive network diagram to simulate the isolation and restoration of high voltage equipment.

The practical phase involves using a range of functioning and interconnected high voltage pieces of equipment, that provide real switching in a simulated and safe environment. The interconnected extra low voltage system, between the switchgear, provides active test points and accurate responses from the equipment, enabling the students to effectively carry out numerous switching programs and scenarios set by our instructors.

Courses are conducted over five days and upon successful completion, eligible students will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment.

All course dates can be found on our website, along with all  other Adelaide dates for our Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas and Hazardous Areas Classification and Design courses.

For more information or to enrol now, call us on 1300 872 585 or visit our course calendar.

Good class engagement with all participants. Great subject matter knowledge. Overall wonderful experience.
Teacher was excellent, very knowledgeable, very personable, didn’t shut people down. Absolute 10/10. When training people to be an assessor he should be the model they learn how to be like.
There is more than enough in the course content to make sure we walk away qualified.
