Overview

The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is suitable for people working in a Work Health and Safety (WHS) role, who work to provide leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Duration

Intensive: 6 days; Standard: 12 months, self-paced

Location

Delivered at one of Competency Training’s national training centres, or at a client’s facility.

BSB40920 – Certificate IV in Project Management Practice

Overview

The Certificate IV in Project Management Practice provides an avenue for project team members to gain a formal qualification in Project Management. It is suitable for personnel in project team roles who use project tools and methodologies to support organisational or business activities.

This course also covers the complete content that forms part of our Project Management Fundamentals course.

Duration

Intensive: 5 days + assessment (Face to Face / Blended), Standard: 12 months plus self-paced

UEE40411 – Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation

Overview

The Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation provides a pathway for a licensed electrician to gain a nationally recognised qualification in instrumentation. The course provides introductory knowledge and skills in instrumentation and process automation.

Duration

10 days, in two blocks of 5 days each, scheduled approximately one month apart. Plus completion of a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) kit for 4 units.

Location

Students have the option to choose between Blended Training (Partly delivered online) or Complete Face-to-Face Training delivered at one of Competency Training’s national training centres, or at a client’s facility.

UEE42620 – Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas – Electrical

Overview

The Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas – Electrical provides licensed electricians with a pathway to a nationally recognised qualification relevant to their work in explosive atmospheres.

This qualification provides competencies related to the selection, installation, maintenance, inspection and testing of explosion-protected equipment and systems for control and monitoring of plant and processes.

Duration

5 days intensive face-to-face training, plus a self-paced Recognition of Prior Learning process.

UEE43011 – Certificate IV in Electrical Equipment and Systems

Overview

The UEE43011 Certificate IV in Electrical Equipment and Systems provides students who have completed Competency Training’s High Voltage Switching Operations and Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas courses with a pathway to a nationally recognised qualification that recognises this training in its elective component

HAZARDOUS AREAS AWARENESS

This course is intended for electrical and non-electrical participants. It covers the legislative requirements of hazardous area installations and provides an overview of the relevant standards. It provides an introduction to explosion-protected equipment and explains how to read hazardous area classification drawings and interpret equipment markings. Safe systems of work and safety issues such as toxicity are also covered.

IECEX HAZARDOUS AREAS AWARENESS

The IECEx Hazardous Area Awareness course is designed to provide students with the pre-learning knowledge under the IECEx CoPC scheme for unit Ex 000.

PROCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT AWARENESS

This course is designed as an introduction to process safety for all workers in production or manufacture plants. Learners will be introduced to process safety management focuses on the design and engineering of facilities, hazard assessments, incident investigation, management of change, inspection, testing and maintenance of equipment, effective process controls and alarms, operating and maintenance procedures, training of personnel, and human factors.

STORED ENERGY AWARENESS

The aim of this course is to increase the awareness of stored energy hazards and the processes used to control or eliminate them.

HIGH VOLTAGE AWARENESS

The purpose of this e-Learning safety course is to raise awareness of the dangers associated with high voltages when working with, or around high voltage systems and equipment. This course provides participants with the knowledge required to implement and maintain a safe and reliable work environment, through the use of high voltage isolation and access procedures and processes.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FUNDAMENTALS

This course is designed as an introduction to project management. Learners will be shown how to define projects, project management, and project managers. The course is based on the Project Management Institute (PMI) model.

ARC FLASH AWARENESS

This Arc Flash Awareness course is for persons working on or near electrical switchboards and provides awareness of the causes and dangers of Arc Flash

AS 3000 WIRING RULES: UPDATES & CHANGES TO THE STANDARD

From January 01, 2019, AS/NZS 3000:2018 (Wiring Rules) came into full effect, governing all electrical installations in Australia and New Zealand. This course will give experienced electricians and those involved in electrical installations, a Section-by-Section overview of some of the key changes.

HIGH VOLTAGE ACCESS

High Voltage Access is an introductory awareness course covering the hazards associated with working in and around areas containing high voltage systems and equipment, and the general procedures involved when entering High Voltage areas.
