Competency Training’s first official Industry Connection Night was a great success! Many thanks to everyone who came along to see our new facility and hear from special guest speaker Theo Venter.
Our hazardous areas and high voltage subject matter experts mingled with guests as we showcased our new hazardous areas training aids from NHP and our new practical HV training area.
Former Linesman Theo Venter enraptured the crowd with his story of a workplace accident which saw him receive an electric shock from a 22,000 volt powerline – and survive. Theo spoke about the importance of safety, training and following procedures while at work, and the long-reaching consequences of taking risks with safety while at work or at home.
Competency Training Group Manager Steve Lonton was proud to provide a platform to bring industry representatives together. “The success of the event reinforces our commitment to providing our expertise in safety and training to the local industry. We have provided solutions to the Western Australian market for over 20 years, and look forward to continuing to service our customers to keep their workforces competent and safe.”
